Produced only in the best vintages. It ages for 36 months in oak barrels and rests for a further 24 months in the bottle. This wine, with an intense ruby red colour, smells of ripe red fruit with floral notes, enveloping hints of liquorice, vanilla, and tobacco. The aromas of the undergrowth are particular. On the palate it confirms the olfactory sensation, being very long, soft, and elegant.
Grape variety: Aglianico del Vulture "in purity".
Cultivation area: Hills on the slopes of Monte Vulture.
Harvest: Manual in small crates at the end of October.
Vinification: Destemming, pressing and long maceration on the skins. Fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks.
Ageing: 36 months in oak barriques. It further rests for at least another 24 months in the bottle.
TASTING NOTES
Aroma: Ripe red fruit with floral notes. Enveloping hints of licorice, vanilla and tobacco. The aromas of the undergrowth are very particular.
Taste: The olfactory sensation is confirmed on the palate. The ageing of 36 months in oak barrels and another 24 months in the bottle make it soft and elegant. Right compromise between tannin and acidity.
Pairings: A pleasant accompaniment to all traditional dishes. Especially indicated with red meat and mature cheese.
